But, I am here to prove that an image shown by a mirror is not a true replica of the reality. Since, my school days up to my education in Engineering, I was taught that image in plane mirror was always a replica of the object, just flipped vertically. This was countered by a recent observation of mine described below.

An Observation

This was observed by me while I was travelling by a bus on the front seat on the left. In my front was the wind-screen with some words painted on it, and on right extending from me up to the wind-screen were plain window-panes of the vehicle. Along with the words on the wind-screen,, their image was visible to me in the window-panes. Thus, I was able to see both the object and the image and compare them. To my shock of life, the image of the words on the wind-screen was larger and distorted as compared to the words themselves.

The mirror Image - a New Concept

Given below is a line diagram by me showing how an image of an object is formed through a plane mirror and viewed by an observer’s eye. ABCD is a rectangular object with A’B’C’D’ as its image in the mirror as viewed by an eye of the viewer. Light rays from the four corners of the object after falling on the mirror surface get reflected to the observer, as shown in the picture. The image of the object is formed in the mirror through extensions of the four reflected rays of light into the mirror just in front of the object.

It is observed that farther the object from the viewer and the mirror, larger shall be its image. There is no doubt that what we all are taught in Optics about image formation is falsehood. The mirror too lies to a viewer.

The Established Concept of imaging

Against above concept of imaging conceived by me, the existing concept of the scientific world says that the image formation is without any reference to the viewer and whether there is a viewer or not, the image in the mirror always exists. To support this concept, the image formation is conceived like that shown in the diagram below wherein light rays for imaging only two corners of the parallelogram are shown for simplicity.

According to this, the image is identical to the object with a horizontal flip, and exists independent of any viewer of the image. This is proved false by my above observation wherein the image is not a replica of the object but distorted subject to the locations of the viewer and the object with respect to the mirror.

The question raised by this discovery of mine is not trivial but has long ranging and wide-spreading consequences in the field of optics. With my discovery, an image of an object may be manipulated through relocations of viewer, the object and the mirror while with the conventional concept, the image is absolutely related to the object only.

Theosoph’s Law of Action and Reaction

Newton’s third Law of Motion states that there is an equal and opposite reaction for any action on a body.

This statement has a shortcoming – if action and reaction are equal there shall be no motion of the body at all. So this law applies to stable bodies only.

To replace this defective law, here is a new law –

A body when subjected to an external action, it opposes it by an equal and opposite reaction up to a certain limit to remain in stable state. When the action exceeds limit of reaction by the body, the difference (Action – Reaction) causes the body to move in the direction of the action.

Let there be a body of mass m and statism n and let there be a frictional opposition of motion (F). Suppose a momentum (M) is applied on the body for a duration of dt, the momentum gained by the body during duration dt is given by -.

m.v = M – F – m.n.dt

For a frictionless body,

m.v = M  – m.n.dt

m.v /dt = M/dt – m.n

This means that rate of change of momentum of the body is equal to the rate of change of applied momentum minus the opposition due to statism of the body.

Theosoph's Law of Transfer of Momentum

Mechanical force is often applied through collision of two bodies wherein the faster moving body transfers its momentum to the other body thus increasing its momentum and hence the velocity.

On transfer of momentum, Sir Isaac Newton's Law of Conservation of Momentum is a great gift to the field of mechanics of that time. But it lacks completeness - the only equation has two unknown variables, making the solution impossible without some additional information.

To substitute this law, Theosoph's Law of Transfer of Momentum in a Direct Collision of two bodies is as follows -

Time-rate of change of momentum of each body is equal to the total mass-statism of the two bodies plus the rate of change of relative initial momenta of the two bodies.

Let m1 and m2 be masses, and n1 and b2 the statisms of the two bodies - the first colliding the second. Let velocities of the two bodies in the same direction be respectively u1 and u2 just before the collision and those just after the collision be v1 and v2. Let the collision takes place for a duration of t. Therefore,

Rate of change of momentum of the first body = m1.(u1-v1)/t

Rate of change of momentum of the second body = m2.(v2-v2)/t

Thus, according to this law -

m1.(u1 - v1)/t = m2.(v2 - u2)/t = m2.n2 - m1.n1 + (m1.u1 - m2.u2)/t

From the first two expressions,

m1.(u1 - v1)/t = m2.(v2 - u2)/t

m1.u1 + m2.u2 = m1.v1 + m2.v2

which is Law of conservation of momentum by Sir Isaac Newton.

From the first and third expressions of above -

m1.u1 - m1.v1 = m2.n2.t - m1.n1.t + m1.u1 - m2.u2

m2.u2 - m1.v1 = m2.n2.t - m1.n1.t

m1.v1 - m2.u2 = (m1.n1 - m2.n2).t    ----------------- (A)

Similarly, from the second and the third expressions, we get -

m1.u1 - m2.v2 = (m1.n1 - m2.n2).t    -----------------(B)

From equations (A) and (B), we may get the values of velocities of the two bodies.

Corrollary :

In case of the two bodies being identical, ie.

m1 = m2,  and n1 = n2

We get from (A) and (B)

m1.v1 - m2.u2 = 0

m1.v1 = m2.u2

and

m1.u1 = m2.v2

The momenta of the two bodies get interchanged.

Power Needed by a Body to Maintain Uniform Velocity

Energy Stored in a Body having velocity V
Let a body of mass m and statism n has a velocity V at the moment 0 and stops after travelling a distance S. color: rgb(24, 24, 24); font-size: 11px; ">
In Astronomy, a planet is defined as a celestial object wandering in an orbit around and with relative to a huge star or any such body. The Sun is considered to be a star and it is understood that the Earth orbits around the Sun, and hence is a planet of the solar system. Apart from the Earth, the solar system is known to have 9 more planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto - arranged in increasing order of their assumed distances from the Sun.

In the planetary motion, each of these bodies has two forces acting on it - gravitational attraction of the Sun and the centrifugal force on the body due to its planetary motion. These two forces balance each other so the body remains in its orbit maintaining its distance from the Sun. Accordingly, the Earth is said to maintains an average distance of 149,600,000 km from the Sun while orbiting around it in a year.

NOTE A

The above stated geometry of Earth wrt. to North-pole star leads us to 3 noteworthy points -

1. The Earth’s North-South pole axis remains inclined always at a fixed angle of nearly 23 degree from the perpendicular to its stated orbital plane.

2. The Earth’s position wrt. to a distance star in its North, say the Pole star, has a lateral shift of nearly 300 million km in a year.

3. Earth’s axis remains always pointed towards a fixed point, the North-pole star, which is also an observed fact and can not be denied.

Now, analyse these three stated facts about the Earth wrt. to the North-pole star, and we have the following observations -

Since fact 3 is a verifiable fact, either the Earth has no lateral shift wrt. the North-pole star hence no orbital motion around the Sun, or angle of inclination of its axis wrt. to its orbital plane keep on changing throughout the lateral shift. Which means both the stated facts above 1 and 2 can not be true simultaneously.

NOTE B

The Earth’s average orbital velocity comes out to be over 100,000 km/h and carrying with it its own ionosphere wherever it goes. This velocity of Earth is so high that the frictional heat produced on the Earth surface would eliminate all possibilities of life, and also carrying its own atmosphere with it would be impossible.

Therefore, either the Earth-Sun distance is very highly over-estimated, or the Earth is not having any orbital motion around the Sun.

NOTE C

Out of all the known planets of the Sun, the Earth has LIFE on its surface and no other planet has any form of life on their surfaces. This gives a unique status to Earth in the solar system.

Therefore, the Earth is not comparable to other planets of the solar system, and hence may not even be a planet.

From these 3 notes, we observe that the common dissenting factor is the planetary motion of the Earth, putting a question mark on its validity.

I am not an astronomer nor a, so-called, reputed scientist but just a keen observer and can easily understand that the Earth with its horizontal displacement of 300 million kilometer (see picture), can not maintain its axis directed towards a single point in the sky (the pole-star) without change in its angle of inclination. So without concluding anything at this stage, I leave this issue for a world-wide discussion and resolving the controversial issues stated above.

Next, in a few days, I will be taking the matter to the next step of resolution. forward.

Theosoph's Law of Statism

Newton’s first law of motion states that - 'A body will remain in steady state or in a uniform linear motion for ever until it is disturbed by some external force.'

This is based on three assumptions –

A uniform linear motion of a body does not consume any power.

Inertia of the body keeps it in steady state or in a uniform linear motion for ever.

A force when applied on a body provides an acceleration to the body and is given by the product of mass and acceleration of the body.

We challenge here all the three assumptions and restate as follows, renaming force as momentum and inertia as statism to avoid confusion with the Newtonian terms -

Even a uniform linear motion of a body consumes power, instantaneous value of which depends on the statism of the body and its velocity at that instant.

Statism of a body tends the body keep it in steady state and bring it to steady state if it is in motion.

Momentum application means transfer of power from one body to the other in a collision without which no application of momentum is possible. Momentum provided by a moving body at the instant of the collision is the product of its mass and its velocity at the instant of collision. It may or may not get fully transferred to the other body. But the total momentum of the two bodies before and after the collision remains the same. This is same as law of conservation of momentum in a collision in Newtonian mechanics.

Accordingly, Theosoph’s first law of motion is –

A body in a position of rest will continue to remain so due to its statism, unless moved by transfer of momentum to it by another body in motion through a collision. If the body is in motion, it will remain in motion until its power gets consumed due to its statism and its being in motion.

Power of a Body in Motion

The expression of power may be derived easily based on analogy of electrical and mechanical systems and their various parameters, as tabulated below –

Electrical System  - Mechanical System

Resistance (R)  - Mass (m)

Current (I) - Velocity (v)

Voltage V = I.R  - Momentum (m.v)

Power = (V.I) = (I^2).R  - Power = (m.v^2) = (m.v^2)

Thus, power of a moving body at any instant is given by its mass multiplied by its velocity-squared at that instant. Such an analogy is not available in Newtonian mechanics.

Statism of a Body

Statism of a body is its opposition to keep moving on as the movement needs power to begin or to continue. It is akin to retardation and is functional only when the body is in motion. Its understanding may be arrived at through the following derivation for a body in motion.

Let V be the initial velocity of a body left free to keep on moving until it comes to rest after moving a distance of S. Let at an instant t, v be its velocity and after a infinitesimally-small duration dt, its velocity be (v - dv) in which duration it moved a distance of ds. Let m be the mass and n be the statism of the body.

Since, n slows down motion of the body, it is akin to a retardation of the body. Its unit is meter per second per second (m/s/s) exactly that of acceeration.

We know the velocity equation of a body -

v^2 = u^2 + 2.f.s

where v and u are the final and initial velocities, f the acceleration and s the distance of travel by the body. When the body is left free to move, it has the only retarding force due to its statism, which we symbolize as - n. So our velocity equation for a travel distance of ds become -

(v - dv)^2 = v^2 - 2.n.ds

v^2 + (dv)^2 - 2.v.dv = v^2 - 2n.ds

Since dv is infinitely small, its square may be ignored, and we have -

ds = (v/n).dv

Integrating on both sides, we have -

s = (v^2)/2.n + k

where k is the constant of integration.

Since, initially at s = 0, v = V, therefore k = (v^2)/2.n

s = (v^2 - V^2)/2.n

Finally, at s = S, v = 0

Therefore,  s = - (V^2)/2.n

Or, n = (- V^2)/2S

Thus, from the initial velocity and the total distance travelled by the body during free travel, we can find out statism of the body.

Sir Isaac Newton and His Basic Mistake

<div style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); It is noteworthy here that when Newton submitted his Principia to te Royal Society as its member, it was rejected. A few years later, Newton himself became President of the Royal Society and got his 'Principia' approved.

At the times of Newton, natural sciences were in nascent stage of development and possibility of some mistake existed. But whatever he did was a great work by all counts. The Laws of Motion propounded by him are still treated to be true and are taught to the students of sciences.

For the reason given above, Sir Isaac Newton made a fundamental mistake which is not caught by the world scientists in the last 200 years. Here is a humble expression of that mistake.

The Mistake

Isaac Newton assumed that a body in motion has energy stored in it at any instant while the energy is not an entity having instantaneous value. It is the product of power and time, so the instantaneous entity is power. Therefore, a body with mass and having a velocity at any instant has the power at that instant, and not the energy as assumed by Sir Isaac Newton. This basic mistake in assumption affected the definition of force which Newton found to be an entity that results in acceleration of the body on which the force is applied. It merely talks about affect of the force and nothing of its source.

This definition of force made Newton to believe that a body in uniform linear motion will keep its motion for ever until some external force disturbs it, which is also a mistake, as will be proved here in later posts.

Earth-Sun Distance and Size of the Sun

The average distance of the Sun from the Earth is said to be 149,476,000 kilometers (or say nearly 150 million km) with a minimum of 146 million km and a maximum of 152 million km. Diameter of the Earth is 12,753 km and its sidereal period of rotation (with respect to stars) is 23 hr. 56 min. It is also assumed that tilt of its axis with respect to its orbital axis remains fixed at 23 degree 27 min throughout the year.
Here, we will compute Sun-Earth distance using some well-known parameters - instances of full Solar and Lunar Eclipses. We know that on a day of full moon eclipse, the moon remains in the Earth's full shadow for a maximum of 1 hr 41 mts. (101 minutes). This maximum period is when the moon passes closest to the ecliptic, if it is away the total eclipse period will be shorter.
With the Moon-Earth distance and the travelling speed of the Moon on its orbital path being known, the Sun-Earth distance may be computed from the diagram shown above which depicts the Sun, Earth and the Moon in a full-moon solar and lunar eclipses. The Moon travels in the shade of the Earth during a total lunar eclipse period. On this basis, we can determine diameter of the Earth's shade at the Moon level.
The Moon's diameter (M) = 3475  km
Diameter of the Earth at the Equator (E) = 12756 km
Moon's travelling speed :
Average Earth-Moon distance (Em) = 3.84 × 108 m = 384,000  km
The Moon makes a complete orbit around the Earth every 27.3 days
This gives a mean orbital speed = 61.38 km/min.
Diameter of the Earth' shadow (D) = [Moon's orbital speed x Total eclipse duration] + Moon's diameter
                                                 = [61.38 x 101] + 3475    km
= 6199.38 + 3475  km
= 9674.38   km = 9674 km (say)

Since the distance between the Earth and the Moon, and the diameter of the Earth are fairly known, from the triangular geometry we can get the ratio between the Sun diameter and its distance from the Earth. This gives us one equation with variables of the Sun diameter and the its distance from the Earth.
Similarly, we get another equation from the geometry of the total solar eclipse assuming for a little bit of approximation that the eclipse is visible from a point on the Earth's surface.
Let
Diameter of Sun = S
Diameter of Earth = E
Diameter of Moon = M
Distance of Sun from Earth = Es
Distance of Moon from Earth = Em
Distance of the Earth's shadow apex (H) from the Earth = X
In the above diagram for Lunar eclipse - from the triangles HFG, HCE and HAB, we have -
(X - Em)/D = X/E = (X + Es)/S  -------------------------------------------(1)
E.X - E.Em = D.X
(E - D).X = E.Em
X = E.Em/(E - D) -------------------------------------------------------------(2)
From equation (1) above
X.S = E.X + E.Es
X.(S - E) = E.Es
X = E.Es/(S - E)   ---------------------------------------------------------------(3)
From (2) and (3)
E.Em/(E - D) = E.Es/(S - E)
Em.(S - E) = Es.(E - D)
Em.S - E.Em = Es.(E - D)
Em.S - (E - D).Es = E.Em      ------------------------------------------------- (4)
Now from the diagram for the solar eclipse above, from triangles PLN and PJK
(Em - E/2)/M = (Es - E/2)/S
Since radius of Earth E/2 is small compared to the Earth's distances from the Sun and the Moon, it may be ignored in the above equation. Therefore, we get -
Em/M = Es/S
Em.S - M.Es = 0   ---------------------------------------------------------------(5)
From equations (4) and (5), eliminating S, we get -
Em.M.Es/Em - (E - D).Es = E.Em
M.Es - (E - D).Es = E.Em
Es (M - E + D) = E.Em
Es - E)
Putting values of M = 3475 km; E = 12756  km; Em = 384,000  km; D = 9674 km
Es = (12756 x 384000)/(3475 + 9674 - 12756) = (12756 x 384000)/393
= 12,464,000   km
This figure is about one-twelveth of the currently accepted figure of 149,476,000 follows -
S = M.Es/Em Yes, I find many such principles -
Trinity Principle
The Nature has three fundamental elements - time, space and power. Every thing else in the universe is a combination of these three fundamental elements if different ratios and diffrent ways.
Here, I contradict the scientific community which treats energy as the fundamental element which indeed is accumulated power over time. This means that energy is composed of power and time, hence is not fundamental. This changed aspect of fundamentality has significant influences on our current scientific knowledge particularly Newton's Laws of Motion which I will be reforming later.
These three fundamental elements give rise to two things - matter in which all three are present and akash in which none of the three is present.
Cause-Effect Principle
Every cause has an effect and conversely every effect is produced by some cause of it. Further, a specific cause will produce the same effect under a given set of circumstances.
Since circumstances keep on changing with time and never return to a previous setting, the effects produced by even the same cause are different from each other.
Cyclic Operations Principle
Every natural operation is cyclic having it own time period or frequency. Cumulative effects of such cyclic operations are circumstances. Since, natural operations are innumerable each having its own frequency, the cumulative result at any point of time is different from those of other points of time, leading to alteration in circumstances at every moment.
These two principles lead to a sub-principle of Nature -
Uniqueness Principle
Every natural creation is unique in its attributes and characteristics, or in other words, no two naturally produced things are similar.
Under this regimen, no two children even of the same parents, no two plants even of the same species, no two pebbles even broken from the same rock, etc. are identical.
Optimality Principle
The Nature follows the optimum path for each of its operations. As a result, energy consumed in any natural operation is at the minimum possible level.
As a corollary to this principle, no artificial operation can be more energy efficient than the natural operation producing the same result.

Rediscovering Nature

Everything around us though may not be Nature but is made from materials and attributes taken from Nature. In scientific terms, physis is the Latin word for Nature from which is derived the word 'physics' meaning the science of Nature.

In the beginning of civilized humanity, about 2,500 years ago, the Nature was discovered faster than today for principally two reasons - humanity was unaware of most of the Nature and needed to know it faster, and secondly and more importantly, human life was not so much dipped in artificialities like today's life and so was close or in the lap of Nature. Poetically, for earlier humanity, Earth was the bedding and sky was the covering. This made humans of that time to feel and hence know the Nature more naturally and closely.
Today, urban humanity lives in concrete jungles with no touch with the soil and the Sun. How can this humanity know Nature except from the books carrying established notions and theories about Nature. There remains no scope for a discovery about Nature, hence the development of Physics.
Experimental Physics from laboratories may invent things but can not rediscover fundamental facts of Nature. It is possible by those only who are deprived, by circumstances or by their own will, of so-called comforts of modern life. Those who are slaves of circumstances can't afford to be researchers and hence discoverers. This leaves a very small section of humanity capable of rediscovering Nature.
Field of discovering Nature is a sort of adventure sport where risks are high and returns very low and uncertain.
Nature is where soil, sunlight, water, plants and air are freely available for feeling and researching. Discovery of Nature does not need a laboratory but a keen mind in an open environment.

Parenting a Discovery

Part : II

Gaining and disclosing additional knowledge about an existing phenomenon is called a discovery. There are two ways in which discoveries are made - Incidental and Intentional. Incidental discoveries are those which come to knowledge of the researcher while he was searching for some thing else. Discovery of New World by Columbus and that of Sea-route to India by Vasco-da-Gama were their incidental finds while they were not looking for these.

Since, incidental discoveries are not the targeted finds, this does not mean that any body can make an incidental discovery if he/she is lucky. I give an example - I am in the process of developing a herbal garden and was looking for a Black Datura plant which I was not getting. Incidentally, one day I found a small Black Datura plant growing like a weed in the hedge of my garden and I made use of that. Had I not been familiar with Black Datura plant, I would have destroyed that plant like many other weeds I keep on removing from the garden. So, even incidental discoveries do need understanding and dedication of the researcher in the field of his/her interest and he/she will make a discovery in the field of his/her expertise.

Second way to discovery is more scientific and needs higher level of courage and confidence than the incidental discoverer. Most of the existing phenomena around us are covered by one or the other established notions which may be right or wrong. These notions exist because somebody in the past had propounded them and the people had been believing in them to be true. Mythologies are also part of such established notions.

Human society is composed of mainly conformists wherein people go on transmitting such notions from the past generations to the future ones adding their own faith to the notion and thus strengthening them. Conformists never make any discoveries. Society may have some radicals, opposite to conformists, also who don’t believe in a notion just because it is well established in the society for many generations. They doubt every such notion and critically examine or research them. This process of doubting and researching may lead them to making a discovery. I call this ‘parenting a discovery‘ where doubt is the father and research is the mother of the discovery. This is the intentional way of making a discovery.

Doubting a traditionally well-established notion and giving an alternative view needs a lot of courage of the researcher. Very often, such anti-establishment pronouncements are rejected and opposed by the society and even punished by the authorities. Galileo, who was the first to pronounce that the Earth is of spherical shape against its established notion of being flat, was punished by the Church for his radical pronouncement. His pronouncement was accepted to be true after his death.

Part : I
There is a famous saying that necessity is the mother of all inventions. This is true and the concept may be extended to discoveries also giving us a statement - 'Doubt is the father of a discovery while its mother is the keen investigation or research into the nature of things'. Research, which may be mental or physical, results into some knowledge, technically known as Science.

Here I must clarify difference between a discovery and an invention. A discovery is finding the truth of an already existing phenomenon while an invention is creation of something new to satisfy a need. So, discoveries are related to mostly naturally existing phenomena while inventions serve mostly artificially created new needs of life.
History of discoveries show that often unrelated persons accidently discovered some thing new, and when they disclosed their discoveries, they were not believed, or even punished for their anti-establishment declarations. Galileo is the shining example of this type who first said that the Earth is a spherical body for which he was punished by the Church.
Here, in this blog, I am going to provide details and logic for some of my discoveries which are totally new and against the present knowledge of the humanity.
This discoveries are results of my doubts on the current knowledge base and my logical investigations into the natural phenomena.
